What data is being collected?

To give a customized experience and improve the service with safety cautions, we are collecting following information from the user.

  • Location of user device.
  • External storage permission like Audio, Video, Files, Images etc. to send image, video etc/ download document.
  • Taking health related information of Employee due to COVID Pandemic.

How is that data being collected?

Consumer Mobile Number and Consumer ID i.e TPCODL’S Consumer Identification Number collected from user during registration through web API. On successful registration (valid consumer ID), user defined password will be saved in a defined local database.

For which purpose data is collected?

The purpose of the data collection is to facilitate TPCODL’s consumer to view his/her own electricity bill, make payment, view his/her own consumption/payment history, get outage information, raise complaints as well as inform about electricity theft and safety related issues to TPCODL.

  • Location: Location permission is collected to track the user location who reported the safety related issue like snapping of conductor, short circuit, fire etc.. As TPCODL is an electricity distribution organization, location is needed to take corrective action promptly.
  • External Storage: To send Picture and video to TPCODL, permission is required to access camera as well as gallery. Further, to report safety related information, user can send the image of the incident which helps the utility to take corrective action promptly. Further, write permission to access external storage is given so that the user can download the electricity bill and save it in external storage for future usage.
  • A information form is design to track health related information of TPCODL employee due to COVID pandemic which helps to take preventive action . Consumer can contact us though phone number given in contact us page.
  • What third parties will have access to the information?

    These data are confidential and will not be shared to any third party.

    What rights do users have?

    Users have the right to view his/her own data only and raise complaints if any. Also, consumer can deactivate the registered accounts with his/her Android or Apple mobile.

    For any grievances related to your data privacy, you can reach out to the following Grievance Officer. The Grievance Officer shall redress the complaints as per Government of India’s Information Technology Rules, 2011.
